if i cannot have my real family here with me everyday, then i suppose the next best thing is the family i got blessed with here.
from delicious home cooked moroccan, italian, french, spanish and all sorts of other dishes every night to conversation at the dinner table that ranges from the disparities between the north and the south, why or why we do not like current world leaders and how my host parents met.
i have been blessed so much. they absolutely love giving me a hard time about being from the south, and I LOVE IT. it really is so funny because at home my friends make fun of me because im actually from the north, but here its opposite. my mom is sending me some instant grits to make for them, and i am so excited.
also, my french is improving, drastically, daily. when we came back from our vacation, Mireille had made homemade pizza, invited her son and his wife and their precious daughter Carla over. We had nuts and little shrimp appetizers and great conversation, just like when my mom hosts guests and we even got to drink wine at dinner (for the first time, oh la la) and her daughter in law commented on well i spoke french. YIPPEEE.
oh, and because the real reason i am here is school .. .. i got an A on my first french test! SCORE. actually learning things!
gotta run :)
