today was highly uneventful. except the market was in town. well i say that, but there is a fresh market every tuesday, thursday and friday and an even bigger one on saturday.  there was so many delicious food- representing all the colors of the rainbow. they even had a special section of fresh fish. literally every type of nautical origin that can be consumed in one way or another ..and you can imagine how well it smelled.

tomorrow is the first trip ill go on and also the one week mark for how long ive been here. at times it feels like a lot more, sometimes a lot less. i got to talk to my mom today which was so wonderful and skype my dad, tyler and kathryn the other night .. its so weird not having them here and having to adjust for the time change. theyre the greatest for giving me this opportunity.

my host dad thinks its extremely funny to make fun of me for being a southerner. and yesterday i taught him the most quintessential southern word .. yall .. i dont think he got it .. but his little comments are so funny and of course i cant be mad. its funny because at home my friends make fun of me and my yankee Ohio origins .. so its nice putting the shoe on the other foot..

yesterday was our first day of art class .. studio art and drawing 101 .. youd think that we'd start with a bowl of fruit .. or maybe a window scene .. nope.. human body, nude, first day.  we had a very nice french model and she was generous to pose for us for 3 hours .. very interesting experience. with the symphonic music in the background id say that it was the most french experience ive had so far.

we get to go nice/cannes/ and monaco tomorrow! i cant wait!
